ACE Winches donates IT Equipment to support local charity Morayvia
7th October 2015ACE Winches, a global leader in the design, manufacture and hire of winches and marine deck machinery, has donated a range of IT equipment to a local charity Morayvia (Registered Charity SC042895), based at Kinloss to support their operations.
ACE Winches has recently upgraded its computer hardware and were pleased that Morayvia is able to re-use the equipment. The charity plan to use the hard drives and screens in the Search & Rescue Operations Room. The equipment will be running new software programmes that includes an aviation forecasting tool and Air Traffic Control system.
Morayvia was set up to establish an interactive science and technology centre in Moray, at a former primary school site at Kinloss. To help raise funds, the charity is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 10th October from 12 noon, where visitors will be able to see exhibits including Rescue 137 Sea King Helicopter, Nimrod and a Jet Provost as well as the Search & Rescue Crew Room which the charity secured from RAF Lossiemouth.
Mark Mair, ACE Winches Academy Training Officer and a key person at the charity said “I am so pleased with the donated IT equipment, which I know is going to be put to good use at Morayvia. We will use the kit in our regular operations and it will undoubtedly help to improve the services and support that we provide.”
