Electric Stinger Winch Project

We engineered, designed, manufactured and installed an Electric Stinger Winch solution for deployment on multiple pipelay vessels for our client.

The complete package is controlled from a Central Stinger Control Cabin located on the deck of the vessels. 

The winch accommodates 350m of 28mm wire and fitted with automatic spooling gear and drum band brake. A variable speed AC drive package is used via a right angle winch drum planetary gearbox to provide constant tension winch function. Local controls are mounted onto the winch with interface to the remote radio control.

It was recently used aboard the DLV 2000 to perform the first of two offshore campaigns. The Stinger Winch assisted in successfully completing a piggy-back pipelay in S-lay mode, off the East Coast of India.
