ACE Winches Shortlisted in Two Categories at Northern Star Business Awards 2019

The finalists for the Northern Star Business Awards 2019 have been announced, and we are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted for two categories.

The Northern Star Business Awards, now in its 16th year, recognises the accomplishments of organisations across the North-East of Scotland in a wide range of categories.

The first nomination is for the Inspiration from Innovation category. Innovation is a central focus for our company, adapting current technology for the modern market and consistently challenging traditional practices.

Our latest innovation originated from a client requiring a deep water steel catenary riser (SCR) lifting solution. We were able to deliver a bespoke package through our engineering and manufacturing expertise, that delivered a cost effective SCR solution, helping our client reduce costs and improve safety and efficiency.

We were challenged to create a significantly smaller winch package to be incorporated onto the existing framework on the client’s platform. The linear winch also required the capability of delivering 550te vertical force. The engineering and project teams at ACE Winches fitted the linear winch into a vertical frame, successfully delivering the project whilst maintaining a priority focus on safety.

The second category that we have been shortlisted for is Marketing Magic, for a successful campaign that has increased customer and brand awareness. The marketing team at ACE Winches were tasked to reposition the brand to focus on the knowledge and experience of the employees, with concentration on the unique ability to solve their client’s most challenging problems.

The campaign showcased the innovative ethos of the company through the diverse content and range of channels used to promote the campaign. A creative mix of engaging videos, interactive displays, animated product demonstrations, technical and informative editorials and press releases, partnerships with likeminded brands and events, as well as strategically positioned advertisements across various digital spaces. 

The campaign resulted in a new company record in terms of engagement across digital channels with a positive impact in revenue and enquires through the sales pipeline. The revised brand position as a project partner and engineering solution provider has generated a stronger pipeline of front-end, concept and planning enquiries.
